On May 30, 1593, Marlowe died in a tavern brawl, killed when one of the combatants stabbed him in the head.
In choosing our very first production as a new theatre company, we wanted something that would show off what we care about. Doctor Faustus gave us the opportunity to create something wildly theatrical, but grounded in actors' bodies and voices. We summoned demons, performed real magic, put on a clown show, and transported the audience all over the world.
